SUPER_STRANGER by LK2 (Leo Katunaric Kadele)We feel like strangers in our own lives. It's as if we're playing on a performance stage whose end we're waiting for as salvation. In the past, reality established a model by which it created fiction, and then fiction became a model of reality. Now the models are completely equal and the only thing that takes place is the circulation of meaning without any hierarchy. In this project, we see footage of people from ten years ago, from various countries around the world, expressing their desires, dreams and plans for the future. We see them on the same screens today, when they just keep silent and look ahead into the camera lens. They are aware that showing desire only means creating content for public performance on social networks. That's why in this project we insert all their unfulfilled desires analytically into the negotiation process with artificial intelligence. She deletes everything she considers unnecessary, non-functional and creates information objects from the remains. Such objects come out into our material world using a 3d printer. An icon / totem is created in the space from the materialized feelings and despair of temporality and insignificance. As so many times in the past, we try to translate the power of the system into our system, so we create objects of worship, use rituals to calm the anger of the powerful and the gods. The icon then goes on a procession through the streets of the city celebrated as sacred information.
JAPAN: Mother! You said I can be a Supermodel!
CROATIA: My name is Daniela. I am eight (8) years old. I like to become tall and be an actress.
INDIA: I would like to go to France. To study.
COLOMBIA: I miss my friend. He lost himself. I feel like stranger everywhere.
All wishes from the screens becomes 3d print parts of a material icon / totem. Abandoned dreams, forgotten friends, fears of the other, facing the reality of life... all this is deleted and reduced to a database from which artificial intelligence produces objects. Such objects enter our reality through 3d printers. They become part of the icon / totem that is built daily in the middle of the space. The rejected becomes as important as the real.
The totem of unfulfilled desires is carried through the city in a procession and ritual of data worship. It is led by contemporary shamans, artists/scientists.
